Kerry’s Biggest Liverpool Fan

Batty Foley from Killorglin is arguably  Kerry’s biggest Liverpool fan and caught up with him today in the lead up to the Champions League Final where Liverpool play Tottenham Hotspurs.

While we were there Batty was surrounded by friends and family calling around in the lead up to the big game but also to see his new hairstyle especially for the big day!  Earlier this morning Batty had spent his time getting a special dye for the big day at The Hair Studio in Killorglin to get a Champions League makeover.

Batty is one of the driving forces behind Killorglin AFC’s youth academy and had a few callers to wish him well and to get their hands on his replica Champions League trophy. Batty is so welcoming and giving of his time and loves passing on the Liverpool spirit of You’ll Never Walk Alone. So when Killorglin AFC youth Luke McGillycuddy braved it with his dreaded Man Utd shirt Batty had a few choice words for him, but being a true sport welcomed him in to take a photo and enjoy the banter.

Batty Foley symbolises everything that is great in sport, the way he absolutely loves his team and encourages everyone else to also. We can say with almost certainty that if Liverpool win the Champions League tonight that Killorglin will be a great place to go but if they don’t you would have to have some sympathy with Batty’s wife Laraine and family.
