Kerry County Council is encouraging businesses and companies in Kerry to participate in the forthcoming Kerry Business and Jobs Expo at the INEC in Killarney on Sunday, 24th April. The Council, which is the lead sponsor of the event, says the event provides a great opportunity for Kerry businesses to showcase their products and services.
Cathaoirleach of Kerry County Council, Cllr Pat McCarthy said the Council was delighted to support the Expo and paid tribute to the organisers. He added that by coming together, participants can share ideas, learn from each other, and showcase their products and services.
Cllr McCarthy said that economic development, job creation and an improved business environment were key objectives for Kerry County Council.
“The Local Government Act of 2014 gave local authorities like Kerry County Council a key role in economic development. For the first time, local authorities have been designated as drivers of economic activity in their respective areas and have been given the mandate to work with other agencies and sectors to generate economic activity and create jobs locally.
“Kerry County Council will soon publish its Local Economic and Community Plan which will set out a number of key goals and strategies for the achievement of economic development and job creation in the county. It has been based on extensive consultation and has been formulated with the support of a range of agencies and groups in the county,” he added.
