Sean Kelly –

Sean Kelly has just surpassed the quota of 119,866 to be deemed elected as MEP representing Ireland South and retaining his seat.

After 9 counts Sean reached the total of 119,883 votes. There was a 53.4% turnout from a huge electoral area of 1,417,017 people.

The sitting MEP for the Fine Gael party looks to be the only candidate from his party to have a seat in the south while Mairead McGuinness was elected in the North West and it looks like she will be joined by former Kerry rose Maria Walsh also.
